Anderton Crew

What do you get with 4 adults, 1 six year old, 1 five year old, 2 four year old, and 2 one year old? A HUGE amount of FUN!!! Becky and I were former roommates when we both graduated from college. We both started our "careers" together when we were single -- Becky a RN and Myself as a teacher. We lived together with another friend named Kristi and we had so much fun living together in our little Wood Gardens Apartment. Little did we know that 10 years later we would both have a husband named Brian and a little boy named Isaac.

Becky and her Brian (she calls him B.A. when we are together) came for a visit this past weekend. They came into town to for Becky's grandmother's 96 year old surprise birthday party.

We took all the kids to the McWayne center. Let's just say it was a blast! Here are some sweet picture of the kids having a great time.
Thank you Anderton Crew for making this past weekend so much fun!

Ike found a BIG potatoe for our bag

Ginny,Graham,Ford, Ike, Me

We had the opportunity to visit with my best friend Ginny and her sweet boys this past weekend. Brian was in NC due to his mom's surgery and Rob was on call at the hospital. Ginny has 3 boys (Ford 4, Graham 3, and Whit 1). Ginny and I have been the closest of friends for 22 years. We first met in high school when we were in the same youth group. Maybe I can find some pictures to post of us later ---- naaaaaa, our big hair would not even fit on the pages of this blog -- you have to love the 80's.
Ginny told me a couple of weeks ago that her son's school was going to sponsor a community service to teach the kids about serving others through community outreach. They had 40,000lbs. of potatoes delivered to a park that was next to the Boys and Girls club. Our task would be to go through the potatoes get as many of the "good" potatoes out and make 10lb bags which we also included a Gospel Track. The boys hung in there for about an hour. We played find the largest potato, find the smallest, et.. It was really neat lesson for Ike and I to be out of our comfort zone and to serve. Ike stared getting hungry and I pulled him aside and explained why were were here and how we were putting the bags of potatoes together for people that were hungry. I think at that point a little light bulb went on in sweet Ike's little mind and heart

Time Out-- A Baby Brother's Love

This picture needs a little explaining. The other day Ike had to take a Time Out -- for what I truly can not remember however, I ask Ike to sit and face the wall while he was in Time Out. I told him I was going to set the timer for 4 minutes. When I came back in the room this is what I saw. I have no idea why Ike was laying on the floor -- he looks like a seal!
Zeke loves his brother so much. He will sit next to him during Ike's Time Out and just smile. Now that I am thinking about it Ike was being disciplined due to pushing Zeke. Oh, a brother's love.
